همگی ما ویکی پدیا را می شناسیم و بارها در آن اقدام به جستجو کرده ایم من حتی در یکی از پستهای پیشین معرفی مختصر ی از این دایره المعارف داشته ام . مسئله ای که توجه مرا به خود جلب کرده این است که برای اینکه بدانم در زمینه کتابداری و اطلاع رسانی بخش فارسی ویکی پدیا چقدر تکمیل شده چند سرچ انجام دادم که نتایج جالبی در بر داشت اول واژه کتابداری را سرچ کردم که نتیجه ای در بر نداشت یعنی تاکنون کسی اقدام به تکمیل این بخش نکرده است . واژه ی دوم کتابدار بود که که نتیجه یک تعریف مختصر و بسیار کوتاه بود . بعد عبارت علوم کتابداری و اطلاع رسانی را سرچ کردم که البته نتایج کاملتر و جامعتری داشت وقتی که به تاریخچه ی این بخش مراجعه کردم با تعجب دیدم که این صفحه توسط یک دانشجوی مهندسی نرم افزار تکمیل شده است .
اگر دوستان کتابدار هر کدام وظیفه ی ویرایش و تکمیل بخشی از زمینه های مربوط به کتابداری و اطلاع رسانی را متقبل شوند این دایره المعارف آزاد به مرور می تواند به منبع کامل و جامعی در کتابداری و اطلاع رسانی تبدیل شود.
